Privacy
TierDiff has no accounts and no forms, and it never asks who you are.
Analytics
TierDiff uses Google Analytics to see which pages are read, which links to other sites are clicked and how often the contact email links are clicked. It records the pages you view, the site that sent you, your device and browser, and your approximate location. Google uses your IP address to estimate the location and does not store it. The data is used only to improve the site, never for advertising, and detailed data is deleted after 14 months.
Google Analytics is loaded through Google Tag Manager, which your browser downloads from Google on every page. How Google uses this data.
Cookies
When analytics is on, Google Analytics sets the cookies _ga and _ga_<id>, which last up to two years. TierDiff sets no other cookies.
Your choice
Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are asked first, and Google Analytics does not run until they accept. Elsewhere it is on by default. You can turn it on or off at any time in Cookie settings at the bottom of every page; turning it off also removes its cookies. Google's opt-out add-on works too.
Information sent to third parties
When you open a page on TierDiff, your browser also sends information directly to the services below.
Google Tag Manager
- Sent to
- Google LLC (www.googletagmanager.com)
- Information sent
- Your IP address, connection details such as your browser, operating system and language settings, the site you are on (tierdiff.com) and the time.
- Purpose
- To load this site's measurement settings, which decide whether and how Google Analytics runs. How Google uses this information.
- How to stop it
- It is loaded on every page, whatever your cookie settings. This fetches only the program and its settings; what Google Analytics sends follows your cookie settings (below). To stop it, block www.googletagmanager.com in your browser or with an extension.
Google Analytics 4
- Sent to
- Google LLC (www.googletagmanager.com, google-analytics.com and related Google domains)
- Information sent
- Identifiers stored in the cookies
_gaand_ga_<id>(a random ID for your browser and an ID for each visit), the address and title of the pages you view, the page that sent you, the time, your IP address (Google uses it to estimate your approximate location), your browser, operating system, device type, screen size and language, and what you do on the page: scrolling, time on the page, clicks on links to other sites (the link address, which service it belongs to and whether it is a referral link), clicks on the contact email link (its address and text) and file downloads. - Purpose
- To see which pages are read and which links are clicked, so the site can be improved. It is not used for advertising. How Google uses this information.
- How to stop it
- Choose Decline in Cookie settings at the bottom of every page: the cookies are removed, and pages you open after that do not load Google Analytics, so none of this is sent. Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland send none of this until they choose Accept. Google's opt-out add-on works too.
Service logos (Simple Icons)
- Sent to
- cdn.simpleicons.org, the icon server listed by the open-source Simple Icons project. We could not confirm who operates it, so it is named by its domain.
- Information sent
- Your IP address, connection details such as your browser, operating system and language settings, the name of the logo requested (which service it shows), the site you are on (tierdiff.com) and the time.
- Purpose
- To show each service's logo.
- How to stop it
- It is sent on pages that show logos and does not depend on your cookie settings. To stop it, block cdn.simpleicons.org in your browser or with an extension; the first letter of each service's name is shown instead.
Hosting and server logs
TierDiff is a static site hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the technical details of each request, such as your IP address, browser user agent, the page requested and the time, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. How long Cloudflare keeps this is set by Cloudflare's own policy. TierDiff does not add any logging of its own on top of this. Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Service logos
Service logos are loaded from the Simple Icons CDN (cdn.simpleicons.org). Your browser requests them directly from that server, so it receives your IP address and browser details in the same way any web server does. Logos belong to their owners and are shown only to identify each service.
Links to other sites
TierDiff links to each service's own website, including its pricing page. Some of these may be referral links. Once you follow a link, that site's own privacy policy applies, and it may set its own cookies. About referral links.
If you write to us, your address and message are used only to reply and to fix what you reported. They are not added to a mailing list or shared.
