Cloudways is a managed cloud hosting platform: you choose a cloud provider (DigitalOcean, Vultr, Linode, AWS or Google Cloud), a server size and a location, and run your sites on that managed server. The Flexible plan supports WordPress, WooCommerce, Magento, Laravel and custom PHP, Autonomous is a fully managed WordPress option with autoscaling, and Velocity is for Node.js apps. Cloudways does not run its own data centers; it uses its cloud partners’ locations. There is no free plan, only a short free trial that needs no credit card, and usage is billed hourly in USD and invoiced monthly. Cloudways is part of DigitalOcean, which completed the acquisition in 2022.
