About Railway
Lay out services on a canvas. Pay for the CPU and memory they use.
Railway deploys services from a code repository, which it analyzes and builds into a Docker image, or from an existing Docker image. Services in the same project share a private network and appear together on the project canvas, along with volumes for persistent data that can be backed up on a schedule. Templates start a ready-made stack. On the paid plans, the subscription fee includes a set amount of usage, anything beyond it is billed by the RAM, CPU, outbound traffic and volume storage actually used, and builds are not billed. New accounts start with a trial and then move to a small Free plan, and accounts that do not pass GitHub-based verification get restricted outbound networking.
Characteristics
- Deploy from a code repository or a Docker image
- A project canvas that shows services and volumes together
- Private networking between services in a project
- Templates for ready-made stacks
- Volume backups that can be scheduled, locked and restored
