About DigitalOcean App Platform
DigitalOcean’s PaaS: apps from Git or container images, next to its managed databases.
App Platform is DigitalOcean’s managed platform as a service: it builds, deploys and scales apps from a Git repository or a container image, such as one in DigitalOcean Container Registry. An app is made of components, including services, static sites, workers, jobs (such as cron jobs) and functions, and managed databases can be created from within App Platform. The configuration can be kept in an app spec file. Apps are billed by the second, and apps made only of static sites are free up to a set number. DigitalOcean asks for a payment method before you create resources, and uses it to verify identity.
